Here’s an interesting piece by Matthew Weiner on mentors and career advice.

Homeland and Mad Men director Lesli Linka Glatter is on the shortlist to direct Captain Marvel. (I guess women directors are suddenly okay if the superhero is also a woman?)

Glatter and Marti Noxon (also a Mad Men veteran) talk about directing “Peak TV”.

Comedic article about television pitches (Mad Men and Ben Feldman both get mentioned).

Checking in with the state of Vincent Kartheiser’s Hulu show Casual.

Speaking of Kartheiser, he’s filming in Cleveland.

One of the last two “HoJo’s” is closing its doors. We assume it will serve orange sherbet right until the end.

Casting news for The Handmaid’s Tale, starring Elisabeth Moss, has been consistently impressive. Now Joseph Fiennes joins the cast.

By the way, High Rise (co-starring Elisabeth Moss) is now out on DVD/Blu-ray.

Halt and Catch Fire is compared to “level-one Mad Men”.

Scathing article on AMC’s decline without Mad Men and Breaking Bad.

The Walking Dead stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Michael Cudlitz drop dire hints about Season 7.

Get to know the newest Walking Dead characters.

Better Call Saul star Bob Odenkirk is writing a book.

How Better Call Saul used code names to keep its characters a secret.

Here’s how Odenkirk reacted to his Emmy nomination.

  1. The Audience Channel on DirecTV (ch 101 in my neighborhood, and several others) repeated a one-hour interview with Bob Odenkirk, a writer, producer, show runner, and best known as Saul Goodman (Breaking Bad) and currently as Jimmy McGill (Better Call Saul). Odenkirk comes off as very comfortable in his own skin with no hint of “star”.

Now in its fifth season, the series is called Off Camera.

The Odenkirk interview will not repeat over the next two weeks but surely will within a few months (last night was my second viewing).
