It’s award season; that most wonderful time of the year!

The award season started on Sept. 20th with the Emmy Awards broadcast.

During its run, MAD MEN racked up 116 Emmy nominations and 16 wins, with the first, last and only MAD MEN acting Emmy award finally going to Jon Hamm.

This is the last time MAD MEN is eligible for award season, and here is what we have to look forward to for MAD MEN and some of the other shows that the Basket follows:

  • Producer’s Guild of America NominationsThe Norman Felton Award for Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television, DramaMAD MEN; BETTER CALL SAUL; HOMELAND  The PGA awards will be announced on January 23, 2016

The SAG Awards ceremony will be broadcast January 30, 2016 on TNT and TBS.

  • Writer’s Guild of America Nominations: Drama:  MAD MEN; Better CALL SAUL; Episodic DramaMAD MEN (Person-to-Person); BETTER CALL SAUL (Uno)  The WGA awards will be announced on February 13, 2015

  • Critics Choice Awards:  MAD MEN shut out of the Critics Choice Awards this year because new rules make it ineligible. Because of the Critics’ Choice Awards’ newly combined TV/film format, only television shows airing within the seven months from June 1 to December 31 were eligible.  Awards to be presented on January 17, 2016
  • American Film Institute (AFI) Awards:  MAD MEN  The AFI jury voted a special award to MAD MEN which had received a total of seven AFI honors during its run — more than any other series.  BETTER CALL SAUL and HOMELAND will also receive awards at a private luncheon on January 8, 2016

  • Art Directors Guild Excellence in Production Design Nominations “EXCELLENCE IN PRODUCTION DESIGN FOR TELEVISION IN 2015:  One-Hour Period or Fantasy Single-Camera Series: “MAD MEN”: “Person to Person” – Production Designer: Dan Bishop.  The awards will be announced at the guild’s 20th annual awards show on Jan. 31
  • American Cinema Editors‘ 66th annual ACE Eddie Nominations Best Edited One-Hour Series for Commercial Television: MAD MEN: “Person to Person” Tom Wilson.  The awards will be presented Jan. 29.
  • Costume Designers Guild nomination for Outstanding Period Television Series:”  MAD MEN – Janie Bryant, Tiffany White Stanton.  The awards will be revealed in a ceremony on Feb. 23.

  • Gay and Lesbian Critics Association (GALECA) Dorian Award Nominations:  TV Drama of the Year — MAD MENTV Performance of the Year — Actor:  Jon Hamm, MAD MEN.  The Dorian awards will be revealed on January 19th.
  • Director’s Guild of America Nominations:  Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Dramatic Series:  Matthew Weiner, MAD MEN, “Person-to-Person;”  Lesli Linka Glatter, HOMELAND, “The Tradition of Hospitality” The DGA awards will be announced on February 6th.

UPDATE:  01-19-2016

  • Gay and Lesbian Critics Association (GALECA) Dorian Award Nominations:  TV Drama of the Year — MAD MENTV Performance of the Year — Actor:  Jon Hamm, MAD MEN.  The Dorian awards will be revealed on January 19th.   MAD MEN and Jon Hamm did not receive awards.
