  1. Regards the Mad Men promo poster, the Gothamist said the ads are:

“so clearly asking to be tagged (seriously, that had to have been part of the marketing plan!).”

I wonder, would AMC formally verify this if asked? Surely by now they know the Sisters and would reply to them?

    • Jahn, I doubt they’d answer, and the marketing materials and the publicists we speak with tend to be very separate.

  2. Nice video. You guys are probably disappointed, but I think it’s nice that she kept her clothes on for the video, at least. (don’t know whether the magazine shows more of her great body.)

  3. Months ago when Amazon first allowed me to do so I pre-ordered the DA Series 2 UK-Edition DVD set. A few days ago I got an e-mail this would arrive on 11 February, then another saying under the price-protection clause I was getting a substantial refund since the price when shipped was about half of the pre-order price. Such a deal!

Best of all, it actually arrived while I was having a long lunch. I have opened the package and cut the seal on the DVD case, of I know it is 3 discs.

Since I prefer to not see episodes before they are shown on PBS, I will only look at the early episodes.

I also bought the Series 1 set by pre-order and found big differences between that and the DVD I recorded from PBS-HD. After 19 February when the last of Series 2 is shown, I will know for sure.

    • CCA, the original S1 aired much curtailed on PBS, but they announced that S2 would not be cut up.

      • Deborah,

Having been warned while DA Series 1 was still in post production by friends doing that in the UK I jumped that the chance to buy the UK version as Region 1 (Canada and USA) from Amazon.

My sources say the edits for PBS are more subtle for Series 2. Soon I will be able to compare the entire series and not the first 6 parts shown on PBS.

I consider myself so fortunate to have equipment to record off-air or cable product to DVD in real time as it happens. Even with USA series and programs there can be differences between the original showing and subsequent commercial DVD releases.

        • CCA,

          You said that you have:

“equipment to record off-air or cable product to DVD in real time ”

IS this consumer gear? Pro? Would I have to fire my satellite service to use it?
