Gah! Insanely beautiful. Such atmosphere, I smell cigs, furniture polish
and JeanNate.
Wow, it’s a painting! So realistic.
Gorgeous!
Very pretty! Don would re-think his views on not working with cigarette companies any more after seeing this.
Where is she sitting? Is she in the empty living room or at a bar? Looks familar but I cannot place the setting. When did she wear that dress?
I believe this is the bar at the end of Meditations in an Emergency.
The hands are incredible, every bit January Jones…down to the awkward way she holds a ciggie. Thanks for sharing this with us, Dan LuVisi.
This is now my desktop background. Beautiful!
Wow. That’s amazing work.
I’d be interested in knowing how that was made. Photoshop must have gotten a real workout.
Lovely, “noir-ish”? Imagine this as a canvas DD purchased from Midge. What would be his thought processes? “Achingly beautiful”, “upscale looking but decadent”, “alone or waiting for someone?”. This grabbed me so much that Betty is now my cell background. Betty! Meditations in an Emergency revenge roll-in-the-hay is not what comes to my mind when seeing this. More like, ‘This is what she’ll look like when Henry gives her the exit papers and she gets an early start on her lush life in some small dive’. Sorry, that was cruel, but she brings out the worst in me.
Tilden, you are so thougthtful.
My take on this picture is a little like yours. It is a sad Betty. Imagine, Betty is the first to arrive with the kids for Don’s wedding. She is at a country club, having her first drink of the day, She had to drop off the kids. They are going to be in the wedding. She will split before anyone notices. She needs this drink for the ride home. No doubt Henry will have to pick them up after the ceremony. Betts will be too self medicated by then.
Mr. LuVisi,
You have captured Betty perfectly. Beautiful. Inwardly focused. In a dark room. Oblivious to the possibilities held by the light.
R,
