I saw Jon and Christina on the red carpet–Christina may well have nailed it (her look, that is). Watch, enjoy and comment!

  1. So right at the start of the show, the camera caught Jon with a mouth full of food-he stopped chewing real quick and gave his “I just got caught” grin. And, while I typed this, he lost for best actor. Booooo!

Good lord, if the elimination of Cranston as his competition for the other shows this year (maybe) it seems as though he still can’t win, since Buscemi is winning instead.
Emmy voters, please correct this mess!!!!!Please!!!!!

On a side note, as I’m rewatching BE again after it’s been over for a while, I’m noticing two things-the show takes the gangster, anti-hero aspect from The Sopranos, and even better from Breaking Bad, and combines it with the period drama and historical references found in Mad Men. So, essentially, without Weiner, BE might not be as successful or even exist at all. MW’s influence on modern tv is really starting to show………love it!

  2. I’m so upset that they didnt win best ensemble!!! We MM fans have been so spoiled by their wins over the years. :(

  3. We have indeed, IPH. I am bummed. I really wanted Jon and Lizzie to win–they are extraordinary actors who were beyond amazing this season.

  4. Speaking of gowns, January Jones looked so much more classy tonight.

  5. ruthiej, agreed. Perhaps the girls have gotten themselves some new gays.

  6. And speaking of classy, how ’bout Jon Hamm walking down to get Betty White and guide her up the steps and to the podium. I melted right there. A true gentleman.

  7. #6…I was gushing. I’m not over 80, I’m 24 but I’d love for him to walk me up the stairs =)

  8. [...] This post was mentioned on Twitter by Dan Collins, Cantara Christopher. Cantara Christopher said: [Mad Men] SAG Awards–open thread #2: I saw Jon and Christina on the red carpet–Christina may well have nailed it… http://bit.ly/gfiJGZ [...]

  9. I’m mad that MM lost on all three (best actor, actress and cast) and turned if off right after it. I don’t know, guys, I’m afraid Emmy might forget MM by the time September rolls around, and throw all their excitement into their new toy, Boardwalk Empire. :-(

  10. What’s it going to take for Jon Hamm to win an award? He’s turned into the Steve Carrell of drama. Just one golden globe then nothing else after that.

Didn’t like Christina’s bathrobe dress at all. I did like January’s old fashioned glamour, though.

  11. Yeah so today I’ve completely changed my mind on Christina’s look. January still gets my approval.

  12. JJ is really nailing the red carpet these days – I think the key was finding a new hairstylist. The sleeker, “done” styles just look better on her.

  13. January knocked it out of the park. She looked PERFECT. Christina’s look breaks down on close study. I have yet to see a shot of Lizzie.

  14. I don’t think EM was present. They showed a photo of her rather than the live shots of the nominees in her category.

  15. Elisabeth wasn’t there. When category was being called with all the other nominees, only her photo was up. I assume she’s still in London?

  16. when her category (Best Actress In A Drama Series)*

  17. JJ’s RC look: IN
CH: OUT. She needs to figure out how to make her coloring work better for her, and her choice of gowns is really…unfortunate. She does need new gays, as they say over on TLo.

  18. [...] a better and lighter note, Christina looked gorgeous at the SAG Awards. (She also looked great in a little black dress for the opening of a Godiva boutique in NYC.)  [...]

  19. Nah, Christina did not look great. Unless she’s developed a new goth persona, in which case she nailed it. It’s too drab.
