From Tim Goodman's article about "NIP/TUCK":
"But as "Nip/Tuck" closes out its run, let history note that no amount of plastic surgery could ever make it presentable."
I realize that Mr. Goodman, like everyone else, is entitled to a personal opinion. But you know what? So am I. And from my personal view, I think that his above final opinion of "NIP/TUCK" is full of shit.
I'm surprised to see Matt hire a playwright. I saw an interview with him at the Writer's Guild from a couple years ago and he talked about how when he first put together his writing staff, he told agents, "No playwrights!"
There's some back story about Alan Ball and his inkling for playwrights, but what I remember is Matt saying playwrights didn't think cinematically. On stage, dialogue is dominant, but in film, you can tell a story using only images and sound. (Think Don touching the grass.)
So it's interesting to him revise that thought.
I hope BMW doesn't back out of all that ad space since Hamm is now the voice of Mercedes!
Thought you'd get a kick out of this Don/Joan photoshop I made, it seemed a natural fit!

“What drives us is the desire to create not only the best cars in the world but for it,†Mr. Hamm intones, adding, “A cleaner, safer future is what drives us.â€
Sounds like something Don Draper could have created.
