Via The Envelope:
AMC’s “Mad Men” dominated the Directors Guild of America Award nominations for nighttime dramatic series, earning three, the guild announced this morning.
Jennifer Getziner was nominated for “The Gypsy and the Hobo” installment; Lesli Linka Glatter earned her nomination for the “Guy Walks Into an Advertising Agency” installment of the period drama, and creator Matthew Weiner received his nomination for directing the “Shut the Door, Have a Seat” episode.
Matt was previously nominated for “Meditations in an Emergency” in 2008. Lesli was previously nominated for her work on Twin Peaks in 1990. And it is the first DGA nomination for Jennifer, who has also been a script supervisor on Mad Men, The Flight of the Conchords, and The Sopranos (to name a few).
Hearty congrats to all three! We may have to worry about this embarrassment of riches splitting the vote, but in the grand scheme of things, that is not the worst worry to have.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.

It is hard to pick just one episode as a favorite, but I think mine would be "The Gypsy and the Hobo!" – Happy to see it being nominated
My favorite was definitely "Shut the Door, Have a Seat"
