My Old Kentucky Home is a musical of sorts. It turned out pretty well.
Nice DVD cover – even though one of the S2 disks features a similar-looking image of a booze glass. But there’s really only so many stock-images of advertising culture to choose from.
I don't think they're relying on stock art–I'm pretty sure they'd pony up for a photo shoot. They built a freaking water tank for the S3 promo poster (blows my mind, it does).
I don't think it's a metaphor. The glass is more than half empty. Still, it's an awesome picture, and I can't wait to see what great special features are inside.
Happy holidays to the Lipp Sisters, MarlyK, Glass Darkly, hullaballoo, B. Cooper, Karl, Anne B, and all of my fellow basketcases. You make this wonderful site what it is; the best place to discuss all things "Mad Men"
Is the half empty glass the same one Don puts on the table in front of Betty when she mentions getting a divorce attorney in "Shut the door. Have a seat"?
I love those vintage glasses! I am always referring to them! I really think if I took a look around my parents home, I could find a few of them , exactly as they appear on the cover of Season 3 DVD box!
Good God, my parents had those exact glasses I think. I've got them in a box somewhere, from when we packed up their house after my mom died. I know the shape of the glass is exactly the same, and I'm 99.9% sure they had that polished nickel looking band around the top. I'm going to look for them when I put the Christmas decorations away.
In the season one set there was a coupon or something to order a MM zippo lighter, season two had a tie clip, perhaps the season 3 special edition could be boxed with a souvenir glass, or you could order a set.
My name is Freddy and I've wasted nearly a month of my life on this place I found it after being recommended by a few friends who have been hanging out here for quite some time.
I am a writer, graphics artist, photographer and just about anything else that comes up around the office. Aside from the above interests i'm really into scifi as I know that is so much more out there to be discovered, and a feeling that the universe is just teaming with life.
Well, I hope that I get to know more people here, share some experience and start learning. Have a greay day!
roger steals it. don chucks it. that damn glass just won't go away.
Perfect! I wish I could find those glasses for my husband. He would die. Really.
Apparently they read the 'Don's Drinking' thread!
i have these glasses…got them on etsy…i see another listing for them here…love them!

Is this a half empty/half full reference? Just sayin…
Agreed #3 Andrew S!!
Magenta, you read my mind.
It is a beautiful and potent image that accurately describes this season for sure.
Pretty!!!
Nice — I like it. Every season's cover has been better than the last.
I'm in an Empire State of Mind today.
It's just booze: not an old-fashioned, not a Manhattan. Like the drink Don poured at the beginning of 3:13.
Who would watch a S4 musical Mad Men? Would it be genius or Mad-ness?

Two thumbs up on that cover, from the husband and me.
And big ups to dsb, for locating them on Etsy. (SUCH a swell site.) I'm gonna log in and buy a set as soon as I'm done Basketing here …
Merry Christmas and happy imbibing to all!

I read a description of extras for the DVD and illustrator Dyna Moe gets a segment! Rock on, Dyna!
