I know all about Mad Men being "rich-people TV."

The husband and I often comment on this. And then we throw another bundle of hundreds on the fire, as one of our former investment bankers-slash-footmen fluffs our couch pillows.

And we laugh.

All these articles about the influence of Mad Men has got me wondering. In the last few months, I've encountered a lot more obnoxious behavior from smokers. Used to be, people would ask if I minded before they lit up, try to stand downwind, and blow the smoke away from me. You'd get a few ash-and-butt flickers, but most people at least aimed for the ash tray. Not anymore.
