November 14th is the birthday of Laura Ramsey, who played the seemingly free-spirited Joy in season two’s the Jet Set. In an episode that was kind of a dream sequence, Joy was a shining star of the dream.
She’s got some great looking projects coming up, and we wish her success and send love and kisses from the Basket!

This probably isn't news to anyone else, but as I am rewatching season 3 (episodes 1-5 for me are a blur, and I know I am not the only one in this), I have noticed that "Out of Town" beautifully mirrors "Shut the door, have a seat". Between the firings (Lane is telling Bert Peterson to shut the door) and Don's relationship with his family ("I will always come home"), it does a much better job of setting the scene for season 3 than "For Those Who Think Young".
I also couldn't help but notice the scene where Roger, Pete, and Bert all have a drink in Don's office ("I don't care what they say. London Fog is a great name.") They all seem so burned out…exhausted with it all. It is also fun to note that they all go to unwind in Don's office – they are already gravitating around their new leader. Don is the alpha of the pack – the one that will lead them to their new home.
.
Happy birthday Laura!
simone, fascinating observation.
