I cannot wait to see her on SNL. She has a huge future. I will not miss anything she does because of her work on MadMen. Last night I watched Rear Window and thought Grace Kelly was doing a Betty Draper imitation!

January had a small role in the movie "Bandits" from 2001 starring Bruce Willis, Billy Bob Thornton, Kate Blanchett. It's a 3/5 -ish stars type movie, but my husband and I actually liked it better than it's rating. Kate Blanchett is great in it and funny playing off the humor of the two guys. January's part is small but fun. I think it's one of the first movies she was ever in.

I've talked to her in real life (a number of years ago) and she has a great sense of humor. Subtle, dry, intelligent.

Oh believe me, I'm a Betty Draper/JJ fan, I was just surprised to see how much "real life" January reminded me of her. I've never seen her out of character, that's all.

She also had a great role as a sceaming, scamming con artist who thoroughly perplexed police/investigators and escaped arrest on Law & Order "Quit Claim"

Thanks, all. You know that January was one of the hot Wisconsin babes in Love, Actually. Perhaps a takeoff on that?

I'm a little surprised at the way she says her first name — she kind of speeds it up. I was always taught that January had four distinct syllables.

January has been a lot of comedies. Love Actually, Pirate Radio this week, and she was in American Wedding as Stifler's love interest.

I think her "real life" speaking voice is different from Betty, always have. She enunciates less and her voice is "gutsier." There's almost a Shelly Winters quality to it. Betty is more traditionally feminine, more of a little girl.

This summer I saw January Jones in The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada (2005), directed by and starring Tommy Lee Jones.

One could say that Tommy Lee Jones — and Jimmy Stewart — keep doing the same voice and almost the same character again and again. That doesn't mean we don't enjoy what they bring to the role and the film.

Meryl Streep can do a zillion voices and accents, but so can many voiceover actors. That doesn't mean they're interchangeable.
