January Jones will have the pleasure of hosting SNL this coming Saturday ( Nov 14th). For some reason I just can’t picture her doing comedy…maybe it’s because all I know of her is Betty Draper, who has no sense of humor at all ( or a soul…how DARE SHE do that to Don) .
But here she is catching a flight from LA to NYC this past Sunday:
Newlyweds Christina Hendricks & Geoffrey Arend are spending their honeymoon in Toronto, according to ET Canada. “I am spending my honeymoon in Toronto while [Geoffrey] films a movie,” Christina said, “and that’s perfectly fine with me. I love Toronto and we’ve been going out for fabulous dinners and we went to Cirque de Soleil, and we’re making it a honeymoon.” What a lovely wife!

January Jones was very funny in Love Actually. She played one of the 3 "American Dream Girls" at the bar that welcomed the young British man to Wisconsin. It's one of my favorite scenes in the movie.
She'll also be in the new comedy "Pirate Radio" from the same people that did "Love Actually" so she's probably on to plug that as well as MM. Let's also remember that we didn't picture Jon Hamm as a big comedy guy until he did SNL and 30 Rock.
Hopefully Harry will be able to find the SCD&P offices himself while Christina is away.
uhhh, sorry to get serious, but "how dare she do that to Don"…
When will the Betty hate soften? I'm shocked by how few people can see Betty's point of view here. Betty could NEVER have had any sanity in that marriage. She was married to someone who habitually lied and disrespected her. Did the viewing audience really expect her to lie down and take a pill in order to "keep the family together" forever. She's been almost losing her mind, clearly losing her personality, she's practically a walking zombie (which the viewing public looks down their nose at her for), yet people expect her to stay as the stepford wife while Don is free to re-energize his life (as he should). God, even in 2009, people STILL think she should continue on the way she has. Either that or they refuse to see how trapped she is and think she should SNAP OUT OF IT and GET HAPPY despite her circumstances. Even women think this. It's unreal to me.
I never really imagined Jon Hamm doing comedy…then he came out with John Ham. SNL will be great.
Just to avoid any further misunderstandings, my comment was a joke….
I'm with #3. As much as I felt pangs of sadness at Don's breaking heart, I really have to side with Betty. Think of if one of your friends was in Betty's shoes – a cheating, deceiving husband is still a jerk even if he is charming, handsome and damaged and every girl deserves better than that.
I thought Betty should have left Don ages ago. My comment has NOTHING to do with my views on women and or Don and Betty's marriage.
So , one more time, a joke
On a funnier January-related note, a recent online video of January's GQ shoot even caught the attention of a big fan at an Oscar movie site, In Contention, at http://incontention.com/?p=17169
Yay! Christina's here in town (I live in Toronto).
Her husband was terrific in 500 Days of Summer.
Just a thought here…
There are many things I love love love about basket-of-kisses – the hosts, the smart analysis (it's like a great lit class sometimes!), the comments, the interviews, awards and general updates – it's all fabulous. I personally think however, that using any paparazzi pictures of our favorite people is beneath BofK – Jon on the street, January at the airport… These actors we love so much pose for plenty of juicy photos in magazines, at openings etc… that we can drool over. However – aren't we better than sharing in pictures where paparazzi make money while our favorite actors are bothered in public places?

elle, we love having allthatjez and her gossip column added to the mix. That makes it official policy. We publish a lot of stuff with a lot of variety. The rule is, if you don't want to read it, don't read it.
Re: J.J. in "Pirate Radio"…I've seen a sneak preview of it and her part in it is so small it's practically a cameo.
@#3 GladMadWoman says, "… God, even in 2009, people STILL think she should continue on the way she has. Either that or they refuse to see how trapped she is and think she should SNAP OUT OF IT and GET HAPPY despite her circumstances. Even women think this. It’s unreal to me."
I agree with all you say about Betty the character and, kudos to Ms. Jones for conveying her, and to MW and the writers for creating her, in a way that evokes such passion among viewers (even those viewers who are so totally wrong that reading their comments nearly makes my head explode)!
Finally, best wishes to the newlyweds. What a beautiful vibrant city in which to honeymoon.
Don,
"I gave you everything you wanted – EVERYTHING! And you loved it! And now I'm not good enough for some spoiled main line brat?!"
Betty,
"That's RIGHT!"
So at least Betty is copping to being a "spoiled main line brat".
She apparently doesn't consider that an insult.
Concerning posts #11 and #12:
Since gossip (including pictures taken by paparazzi!) is considered within "official policy", is there a line that BoK won't cross?
What about stuff the cast and crew don't want the public to see?
What about pictures with their children, nude pictures from the beach, mugshots etc.?
It's none of my business, but I doubt an actor would be interested in giving BoK an exclusive interview after compromising pictures of him were posted here.
Acrylamid, your concern is reasonable, or would be if these were compromising pictures. They're obviously not. Jez is always so nice to our stars, and says how great they look, and is never bitchy. (I'm the bitchy one and I don't publish the gossip: Division of labor.)
Moreover, we already have a great relationship with the cast & crew and have many exclusive interviews under our belts. They trust us and we are grateful for that. Geez Pete, they come to our parties!
You know what this blog did? It withheld the date of Elisabeth Moss's wedding, which she was keeping secret and was accidentally revealed to us. We did that without being asked because we thought it would be cruel and terrible to publish something like that.
So don't get your panties in a twist about an airport shot. We love our gossip but we love our show and its people more. We're guarding the line just fine.
Christina looks wonderful in her wedding dress and her red hair contrasts so nicely with the white dress.
