Announcements! (a quick touch-up of Lipp Gloss)

November 03, 2009 By: Roberta Lipp Category: Actors & Crew, Lipp Sisters/Basket, Scoops & Exclusives, TV-Film-Culture

Few things.

First of all, we’re very busy here. Lots going on. Please make sure you are scrolling down to see what great posts are around. Yesterday alone included the continuation of the open thread, Deb’s interview with Michael Gladis in two movements, her post about Don and Betty; plusjeez louise we have Matt Maul, allthatjez’s gossip, and Coop, all being brilliant, all in one day. So do please poke around.

Second, Elisabeth Moss’s appearance on Mercy is this tomorrow (Wednesday night)–set your whatever it is you set.

I interviewed Rich Sommer a few weeks ago and I simply haven’t transcribed. I am a horrible human being. Rich is a lovely human being. Please watch this space.

The BoK finale party in midtown Manhattan–you must come! (Did it work? Are you under my thrall? Do I even have a thrall? I’ve always wanted a thrall…)

Okay and wait for it; this is the big one, are you ready? Basket of Kisses exclusive interview with Jon Hamm is going up this week.

(I know, I sound all calm and shit, right? I speak to him this afternoon. That’s right–all calm and shit.)

Stick around, folks, you never know what’s coming next.

    OMG, you are interviewing HIM?

Have fun, sister. That is fantastic. And please, please tell him that his performance in The Grownups was simply outstanding.

I had lost a lot of hope in actors in the last few years — Hamm and the rest of this cast have renewed my faith.

  2. # 2 Judy S Says:
    November 3rd, 2009 at 5:31 am

Totally calm and shit. Definitely. :-)

  3. # 3 Deborah Lipp Says:
    November 3rd, 2009 at 5:33 am

I love how I'm scrolling down and read "Stick around, folks, you never know what’s coming next" followed immediately by "voices of God."

    Yowza.

And hello? I'm the best sister ever, because I'm the one who lets Roberta take the Hamm interview even though she hasn't finished transcribing.

    She so owes me.

  4. # 4 Roberta Lipp Says:
    November 3rd, 2009 at 5:46 am

"What do I owe you Paulie?"

TOTALLY letting you own 90% of the bylines.

  5. # 5 B.Cooper Says:
    November 3rd, 2009 at 5:54 am

great line, roberta – made me laugh!

btw – yesterday was the new record traffic day for BoK, with over 23,000 views, shattering the old record by over 10% …

  6. # 6 Millicent Says:
    November 3rd, 2009 at 6:49 am

Oooh, enjoy the JH interview. Can't wait to read it! Congrats!

Not sure where to post this but: Of all the timing, I have to be in New Orleans on Sunday night — the hotel doesn't get AMC! I am frantic at the thought of missing the finale. Does anyone know a bar near the French Quarter, or someplace, that receives AMC and might be persuaded to tune in?

  7. # 7 Deborah Lipp Says:
    November 3rd, 2009 at 9:30 am

TOTALLY letting you own 90% of the bylines.

That would only be really cool if I wasn't also writing them. I mean, if you wrote really cool content and signed my name to it, I would totally feel puffed up.

  8. # 8 Roberta Lipp Says:
    November 3rd, 2009 at 10:00 am

There's that. And yet? Perhaps this should all be offline.

Coop, you should hear me actually say it. Hee-larious.

  9. # 9 brenda Says:
    November 3rd, 2009 at 11:59 am

    #6 Millicent,
you know that Bryan Batt is from New Orleans. Call his shop Hazelnut and ask them if they know of a Mad Men party. As I have kin there, I know you would be received with open arms. http://www.hazelnutneworleans.com/

  10. # 10 Millicent Says:
    November 3rd, 2009 at 1:30 pm

#9 Brenda: Yes, I was planning to visit the shop sometime that week. Not sure I have the gumption to call and ask about a party, though. :) It is a nice idea, however. Perhaps I'll try. :)

  11. # 11 brenda Says:
    November 3rd, 2009 at 2:34 pm

#10 Oh, Millicent, it's New Orleans. Bring a bottle and you're welcome anywhere :)

  12. # 12 Anne B Says:
    November 3rd, 2009 at 3:24 pm

    How was it?

Come on now, Roberta. Spill. Do you totally need a cigarette? :)

  13. # 13 Sarah M Says:
    November 3rd, 2009 at 9:16 pm

    How tremendously exciting!!

Can't imagine how much CRACKLING CHARM is produced with your forces combined, and I cannot WAIT to read the ensuing words!!

  14. # 14 Judy S Says:
    November 4th, 2009 at 6:34 am

Will we get the interview transcribed before Sunday evening? I know, I know – you have a party to plan – but I am looking forward to this interview (as I have enjoyed *all* the interviews thus far). :-)

  15. # 15 Dbiloo Says:
    November 4th, 2009 at 9:54 am

    Wow,can't wait to read that

  16. # 16 Millicent Says:
    November 4th, 2009 at 5:00 pm

    #11 Brenda: :) Thanks, I'll give it a shot!

Listen, I’m not here to tell you about Jesus. You already know about Jesus. Either he lives in your heart or he doesn’t. Every woman wants choices, but in the end none wants to be one of a hundred in a box. She’s unique. She makes the choices and she’s chosen him. She wants to tell the world he’s mine. He belongs to me, not you. She marks her man with her lips; he is her possession. You’ve given every girl that wears your lipstick the gift of total ownership. — Don Draper, The Hobo Code
