Breaking News! Elisabeth Moss married
Us Magazine has the scoop:
Mad Men actress Elisabeth Moss and Saturday Night Live funnyman Fred Armisen are now husband and wife!
The couple wed on Sunday at The Foundry in Long Island City, New York, the actress’ rep confirms to Usmagazine.com. The ceremony was “attended by family and friends,” the rep says, adding that Moss’ gown was designed by Claire Pettibone.
“They did get married over the weekend,” a source close to the couple tells Us. “It was fun.”
A basketful of kisses for the happy couple!

congrats! I heard it on the View this morning after Elisabeth was on last Thursday and did not want to spill when and where the wedding will be.

And just think, if Amy Poeller hadn’t gone into labor, Elisabeth and Fred might never have met – how very MM of them!

Congrats to Peggy and Barack/Steve Jobs/Gov. Patterson/Prince (among others). Last Saturday’s SNL was the first repeat of the season. Guess the love birds tied the knot on their first weekend off.
Barbara was trying to get it out of her on The View on Friday but she didn’t budge, although she did say that it could be “very soon.” I also remember her on Jimmy Fallon’s show and they were trying to keep the date under wraps as she was giving Jimmy an invitation and instructions about the fall wedding.

Very fitting and very timely! This is becoming a landmark MM/SNL weekend.
Best wishes to Fred and Elizabeth for love, laughter and happiness always.

They would have met regardless. Lizzy is good friends with Casey Wilson, who was a cast member last year (and was cut recently, which was a massive uncoolness). Seats are hard to come by, and had they not been friends, Elisabeth might not have even gotten a ticket. Casey made a point of introducing them because she just had a feeling that Lizzy and Fred would like each other.
Why do I know this? Because one random Tuesday night last May I ran into a few SNL cast members in an incredibly fun but equally unassuming piano bar in the west village. I rarely find myself in a bar in Manhattan, especially on a weeknight, especially running into celebs who happen to be friends with Mad Men cast members.
Deb and I met Elisabeth at Speed-the-Plow the night before she met her husband.
When Matt came to our party last year, (the Sunday night after that SNL), he assured us that Lizzy had no idea she going to be in the Mad Men sketch–it truly was because Amy went into labor. It would have been hilarious to have Peggy portrayed as giantly pregnant without a word about it.

Congrats to them!

I was just looking up Elisabeth Moss on IMDB.com and this is a funny discovery…it says that Elisabeth had ’studied ballet with SUZANNE FARRELL at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.’
I wonder if it was just a pure coincidence that Suzanne Farrell is a Mad Men character or maybe Elisabeth Moss has spoken of SF in front of the writers and such.

Just rewatched Elisabeth’s appearance on The View. When she comes out and hugs Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Ms. Hasselbeck says to Ms. Moss “We have the same spelling!” Thought it was cute.
