One of my favorite quotes (which is really my misinterpretation of the real quote came) that I always apply in these situtions came from the Cosby show when in one episode Dr. Huxtable was trying to buy a car. During Dr. H's trip to the the showroom, the car salesmen took a call from his wife while Dr. H was sitting there and it seems like she was telling hubby about a big bill or something and he said something to the effect of "well the babies need heat" or something like that although the first time I saw it I thought he said "babies gotta eat" which I like better. So now whenever I see a good actor do a role beneath them I say that was a "babies gotta eat" role. Other than the fact that the whole film sucked, the remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still is remarkable for giving Mr. Hamm one of the possibly worst hairdos on the planet: parting his hair down the middle! (My theory: they were deliberately trying to make our Jon unattractive so as not to outshine star Keanu Reeves.) At last, a great haircut on Jon Hamm in a movie! At last, letting him be his handsome self.
