Our itinerary..

… is still fairly fluid.

This post is about Deb and my trip to the Mad Men set, so if you’re looking for info or thoughts on the show, move it along folks, nothing to see here.

We fly tomorrow (Sunday), a 6:00am flight. This is gonna suck. And we have a three hour layover. More fun!

We will be greeted by Joe Bua of I Am a TV Junkie fame. We’re so psyched about this! Joe was one of our first and remains one of our most enthusiastic supporters.  We get excited about the coolness of the success of this blog in terms of getting the attention of the Mad Men folk, but there’s also the blogging community and the friendships that have formed in that arena. We cannot wait to meet Joe Bua with the big hugs. And props to Joe for the schlepping.

We get in around 1:00pm, and we have no specific plans for the afternoon/evening. We imagine there will be some looking around, some food, maybe a nap.

Sunday night we’re having a mini-Basketparty in our hotel room. Joe, hullaballoo, (who we’ve also never met and we finally will and we’re thrilled!!!) and a couple of other friends (we do actually know other humans, even on that coast) will be hanging with us to watch the premiere. The Episode open thread will be up, ‘cases, and we may just chime in.

Monday is the day. We are heading over in the early afternoon to join the cast and crew for lunch. We still have no idea who will and who won’t be there, but we’re pretty sure that will be the most fun meal since our brother’s wedding. (Which was really fun.)

After lunch, we tour the set–poke around Sterling Coo. Then we’re going down to the costume closet! Holy heaven! Also, somewhere in there we’ll see Matt.

So that’s all we know for sure. We had left Tuesday open in case they wouldn’t see us Monday, it was our backup plan. So now we have some ‘ciding to do. We may do a drive-by of the Draper house, we may do a very touristy movie tour thingy, we may jump the fence and go back to the set ; )

Tuesday night it’s a red-eye home. Ugh again.
