I know this isn't really relevant, but I just watched Funny People and I was like "What!? Bryan Batt and Maggie Siff's parts were just right after each other! And Bryan Batt looked like he just walked off the set of Mad Men! (maybe with an updated suit of course) :D "

It's just occurred to me that the Season 2 marathon is set for a...Monday? What? They're showing episodes all day, beginning at 7:00 am on a Monday? Ummmmm? Wouldn't Sunday, August 9 be better? You know, because people might be HOME on a Sunday to, you know, WATCH it? The entire world isn't updated to TIVO, folks.

#11 In a way, even worse. I think I might be a little peeved if one of my friends sold photos of me to the press. Then again, it's not like this is going to become a problem for me.

The cool thing about Hamm is, he's so willing to make fun of the whole uber-hotness thing. It's like he sees it as a big joke.

Re "Jon on the beach" photos: SO. HOT.

How hot?

* So hot I had to bookmark them so I can find them again
* So hot they now live in their own Favorites folder (called "sweet fancy jesus")
* So hot I felt guilty after I looked at them (for the fifth time)
* So hot I confessed all of the above to my husband

Not to yank back a phrase from a girl who hasn't got many original syllables to deploy in the first place ... but in the words of Paris: THAT'S HOT.

As an entertainment journalist I attended a number of Television Critics Association Death Marches with Cocktails in the 1990s, and it was as Tim Goodman says, including the snubbing of AMC, and critics bitching about the week throughout the free lunches, dinner parties and giveaways.

The giveaways: T-shirts, branded watches, tchotkes tied to a show or channel are no more, a press friend tells me.

Something or other about the worry that the critics might be considered bought by the trinkets.

Ha! Critics love their own opinions and I remember them excoriating the star of his eponymous (but wretched) show after having eaten a very nice salmon dinner hosted by the star and show.

I think the PR people loved the trinkets better than the journos -- in hope of getting anyone to show for the panels of the despised cable channels like AMC.

As it was, transcripts of all panels were available within a day or so, so Goodman is also correct that that tidbits at cocktail parties are the only way a writer breaking info different from that of all the other critics.

Someone on twitter laughed because John listens to Mos Def (which is cool b/c Mos Def is most definitely awesome... sorry ;)) But John was also in a movie with him back in '98 called "Where's Marlowe?"

It's pretty good. Check it out.
