Basketcases S. Tarzan and Peter G. found reviews for the about-to-be-released S2 Mad Men DVD set.
IGN’s review is really enthusiastic.
DVD Talk has some negative things to say about some of the commentary tracks, but is also quite favorable overall.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.

I'm concerned about this because it appears that the Season 2 Blu-Ray DVD will be different from the standard DVD release. Last year, the Blu-Ray and standard packages had the same content. This year, I'm not so sure. Most of the reviews highlight the Blu-Ray package, saying virtually nothing about the standard DVD, and in one review I read, the standard DVD didn't have half the stuff the Blu-Ray discs had — fewer commentaries, and none of the featurettes. I hope they don't screw us like that. I'm not trying to buy a new DVD player in this foul economy.

That's disturbing. Do you have a link to that review, hulla?
I love the commentaries on season 1's DVD so I'm glad to see they kept up the same amount.

On second review, it looks like they're talking about the UK release, although I wonder if that makes any kind of difference. I will be mighty p.o'd if they withhold cool extras from the standard DVD package.
As a James Bond collector, I am constantly maddened by the way British editions and US editions differ.
I remember reading on livejournal that for some reason in The UK, the blu-ray and standard DVD sets for Mad Men had different features last season as well.
I really, really cannot wait. Even my DVD player is panting!
