This is usually Roberta’s domain — she has this big list, and everything. But she’s off in the wilderness somewhere, and, well, the show must go on. Figured it’d be easier to do one big birthday shout-out for the month of June. Hopefully, I’m not missing any one.
Happy Birthday, y’all!
June 7: Andrew Astor, who plays Peggy’s nephew, Gerry Respola, Jr. His “Good night, Aunt Peggy,” was so sweet.
June 15: Tim Hunter, director of New Amsterdam, Red in the Face, Long Weekend, Indian Summer, For Those Who Think Young, and Three Sundays. Love your work, man.
June 17: is the anniversary of the birth of the late Christopher Allport, who played Andrew Campbell, and in whose memory the episode Flight 1 was dedicated.
Also June 17: Anthony Burch, who we saw as Marty Faraday in the art department. (The Hobo Code“ Lois Sadler was not so interested in Marty as she was the dapper Salvatore.)
June 18: Robin Veith, writer, The Mountain King, Night to Remember, The New Girl, The Wheel. Credited with Betty’s pigeon-shooting escapade, as well as her chair-whack. Good stuff all around.
June 21: Maggie Siff, who plays Rachel Menken-Katz, and whose character was sorely missed in Season 2. Ah, well, the story moved in a different direction, and she moved on to bigger and better things. Life happens.
Oh, and yours truly, June 24…does this make me self-serving? Yikes. Anything for attention, I suppose…Sigh. I need to get a life.
Any way, thanks to all of you for doing what you do. The show wouldn’t be the same without you.

Robin Veith's mother actually shot at pigeons. I love that.
There's one more coming. Wait for it; I'll handle it when we get there. It's a good one.
I already know — had a tiny peek, while you were gone. You forget I have access to the back door. Mwuha, ha, ha, haaaaaah. Looking forward to the party.

"Robin Veith’s mother actually shot at pigeons. I love that."
Really? I remember watching Veith describe her mother's attack on the pigeons and being repulsed. Talk about misplaced anger.
