You can have lunch with Jon Hamm

April 09, 2009 By: Deborah Lipp Category: Actors & Crew

This might normally go into the Mad News, but it’s kind of too cool for that.

Jon Hamm is auctioning off lunch with himself for charity. Proceeds go to the Adrienne Shelly Foundation, supporting women filmmakers.

Check out the various auctions for this cause here.

Bid on Jon (heh) here.

Adrienne Shelly – so talented and her early demise is more than tragic. Lunch with Hamm? In a second. Now, if was dinner or an “over-nighter” I’d be liquidating my assets for a chance at that!

    Like I could eat.

Best part? It’s an agreed upon destination, so you could totally have oysters and cheesecake at Musso & Frank’s.

    Can a group do bid?

Like in Jon Hamm has lunch with the BasketCases?

    Slattery for sale!

Holy cow, we can buy a SET!

  7. # 7 Karl Says:

I wonder how much it would cost to get them to run up and down the stairs afterward….

Looks like Slattery is up for grabs as well. Who to choose? Who to choose? Decisions, decisions!

    LOL, Roberta. And Karl!

There are actually some incredible auction items here (lunch with Edie Falco? Backstage tour at the Colbert Report? And yeah, lunch with Jon?) — and all for such a great cause.

I loved Waitress. It was a terrific film, uplifting and tender and true. Adrienne Shelley was a special person, whose work had just begun to hint at what she had to share with us.

Sure, I’ll bid … and happily lose. :)

Deborah and I have birthdays coming up.

    Just saying.

    Me too!

  12. # 12 Karl Says:
    April 9th, 2009 at 4:44 pm

OK, Hamm already went out of my budget, but Slattery is still a steal!

  13. # 13 Shelly Says:
    April 9th, 2009 at 5:25 pm

    23 bids already for Jon.

Obviously I’d like to bid on John’s but, I’m trying to save that $500 towards everything else in my life.

    Bummer…

    Such a great cause too!

Mutually agreed upon, hmmm. So lunch in a hotel suite probably won’t be an option because Jennifer and Talia would get to veto that?

However, it would fit the nature of the show; a little clandestine meal together, right?

The same day they announced this auction I unexpectedly received a little $ sum from dear Auntie’s estate. Probably not enough to win the auction, but I know she’d want me to put it to good use :-) So as soon as I can get in the “preapproved” bidder pool, I’m in as far as it takes me…and if not will make sure to give BoK some love regardless.

Anything for a good charitable cause, and someone has to win!

OK, we’re in the thick of bidding now – another day and a bit to finish off – waiting to see what happens at the top.
BTW you can bring a guest and since Mr. Seagirl already gracefully declined, that means room for another BoK attendee. Is anyone else playing?

  18. # 18 Roberta Lipp Says:
    April 15th, 2009 at 2:25 pm

Only in my imagination. Hamm is too rich for my blood.

  19. # 19 hullaballoo Says:
    April 15th, 2009 at 4:10 pm

How is it that Kevin Smith is leading Jon Hamm?

  20. # 20 seagirl Says:
    April 15th, 2009 at 4:25 pm

I think one person has a maximum bid already in the system that keeps everyone else from outbidding them. That tends to discourage the back and forth you might see in other auctions and also keeps the ante low.
You also have to be a prequalified bidder so really aren’t many folks participating – at least right now.
Jon and the Foundation are definitely worth more than $1425 (which is what it was stuck on for 2 days :-( ) so we did our best to get things catalyzed…totally serious and we’ll see where it ends up.
