Well really, there’s not much to the story.

So my co-worker/friend Nina got herself an invite to the Vanity Fair Oscar party. Which, holy crap. She is friends with someone who is associated with the sponsorship. Half-jokingly I told her that if she met anyone even remotely associated with Mad Men to tell them she knows me. Nina has still not seen the show but absolutely intends to, and has been pretty on top of who Jon Hamm is and how my blog is doing, considering she has not seen the show.

I won’t go into the details of her experience at the party and all the celebs she saw or met. A) It makes me so envious I could cry (Diane Lane? Gwen Stefani? Dermot Mulroney? Streep?!?) and also B) it’s her story not mine.

But yes, she saw Jon and Jennifer. She said that Jon is beyond beautiful, and he smiled at her a couple of times. (Nina, by the way, is a drop-dead gorgeous young Indian woman. And also radiates warmth and intelligence.)

Most of her time was spent speaking with Vanity Fair people, about whom she had only wonderful things to say. She managed to speak to them about yes, me and my blog, and how successful Basket of Kisses is, etc. etc. And they said they knew Jon and would be more than happy to introduce her.

Only it just never happened.

Whatever. I am not bitter.

Hey guys? Thanks for hanging out for our first 1,000 posts. Somewhere over the next 1,000 there will be one about how we actually meet Jon Hamm ourselves, and he tells us what a fan of ours he is. Or something.

  1. Congratulations on 1000. Kisses to you and Deb.

  2. Kisses back atcha, hullaballoo!

  3. Yeah congrats! I love this site!
I was watching "Loves Never Ending Promise" or some such sappy lifetime movie this morning with a young January Jones in it. She was all 'Little House on the Prairie' ish.

  4. Congratulations. Thanks for keeping this site going and all of us pumped up during downtime.

  5. I'd love to see you guys interview Jon and January in particular, no interviewer ever asks them enough in-depth stuff about the show or their characters.

  6. Thanks everyone.

briome, that movie rings a bell.

JS, so would we! We are going after all of them; it's just hard, when hunting them down is not your full-time job.

  7. Looking forward to the next 1000!

  8. This is the movie -Love's Enduring Promise- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Love%27s_Enduring_Pr…
January is not in the next of this series, someone else plays that character boo hoo!

  9. Congratulations! I really enjoy this site.

I remember seeing that movie on tv one time, briome. It was so weird seeing Katherine Heigel play JJ's stepmother given that they are the same age in real life!

  10. Glad to see Dale getting some love, BTW.

  11. Congratulations on the 1000th post!!! You two are absolutely the best, plus the other regular posters, too. I too am waiting for that Jon Hamm interview. Actually, I would love to have you interview Vinnie Kartheiser – he really sounds like fun.

  12. Congrats on the 1000th post, Ro and Deb. Your blog's become a regular visit since last year. You've kept interest up on the show even during the off-season.

Would love to see an interview with Hamm on here, but if you could at some point… Christina Hendricks would be welcome as well. :)

Thanks for doing this site. Canadian fans thank you!

  13. Ditto Greg H! I'm a Canadian Mad Men fan as well! Would love to see interviews with Jon Hamm (my fave!), Christina Hendricks, Vinnie Kartheiser and John Slattery….that would be so cool if you could interview Hamm and Slattery together, their bantering is hilarious!! :)

  14. Excuse me. Somewhere in your next 1000 posts, you'll post that you met Jon and he told you he's a big fan of me. Please try to remember that.

  15. Ooooh, Hamm and Slattery….yum.
