Excellent interview! I love this guy. Another point of Bryan's' that I thought was very intriguing: "If you just do one thing with your life, you let your work define who you are, and there’s so many other things. As I’ve said in many other interviews, I’m a firm believer in “and” over “or.” You can do more than one thing with your life. And if you have an interest you have to follow it."

Part two did not dissapoint. My favorite part was when he discusses his relationship with Kitty. I also think it's so interesting that his mother lives with him.

BB’s thought on Sal’s mom’s reason for missing the dinner party was: “It would have to be something with the church, I’m sure it was something with the church.” DL insists it was Bingo.

I don't disagree. BB said "Bingo," and then 'or something else at the church,' and I said I wanted it to be Bingo, not something else, because it's such a great answer.

Thank you for posting this interview.

It was very detailed and interesting.

I love the rapport Sal & Harry have on the show, especially after the payslip scandal when Harry goes into Sal's office (ep no?). That was pure class.

I hope for S3 that they come and promote the show abroad.

It was both! Bingo games at the Parish hall have a long tradition. My archdiocese's list of activities includes at least one bingo game. http://www.diogh.org/aroundthediocese.htm

(I say "my archdiocese" although I haven't been a believer for a long time. But the list of entertainers for this week's Mardi Gras dances might make be see the light: Blues Diva Lady D, modern polka band Mark Halata and Texavia and Marcus Ardoin & the Zydeco Legendz.)

The Louisiana connection is one more reason to love Bryan Batt. Thank you for presenting this wonderful interview!

Wonderful job, per usual.

On "and" over "or," I have to think that experience outside acting can only enrich the acting. And that experience in business is probably relatively rare among actors (aside from waiting tables in H'wood). I am reminded of VK's comment in New Amsterdam about how "proud" VK is of Pete having an office with his name on the door, and that it was always a fantasy of his to have a door with his name on it. BB probably gets the whole picture -- the pride of Hazelnut, as well as the demands and responsibility that go with it.

I would imagine that staying connected to NOLA similarly helps BB remain grounded amid all of the MM hubbub (though it seems like MW did a great job at picking a grounded cast overall). Another way in which having a rich life outside acting may enrich the acting.
