When I read the news that Christina Wayne was leaving AMC, I filed it for Mad News and thought no more about it. She’s the exec in charge of Mad Men, but with everyone’s contracts all sewn up, I felt no personal stress.
Anyway, then I saw this item: Because of the way Deadline Hollywood speculated about Wayne’s departure, they received a note from Matt clearing up any misconceptions. And when Matt speaks, the Basket listens, so here it is:
Nikki, I just wanted to set the record straight, since anonymous posters seem to be speaking for me on your site. It’s very important to me that people know how I really feel, and I would appreciate you getting this out there. I’ve always had a wonderful creative and personal relationship with Christina Wayne. She is a person of great character who has incredible intelligence and taste. I feel as I know the people at AMC do, that her vision and insight will be missed and wish her the best in her future endeavors. Thanks, Matt Weiner

I saw these too, and found the comments from industry people interesting. With there being so much recent reorganizing at AMC and Lionsgate, it's not surprising to see an item like this.
