Happy birthday to Archibald Whitman
Joseph Culp did such a good job as Archie that I kinda don’t like him (acting, Roberta, acting!). So checking him out, I learned that this is a rich actor with a fascinating career.
Happy birthday from the Basket. We got you a little gift.
We know you always liked these.

Robert Culp's son. That's somehow appropriate. And can I say…Joe Culp is kind of hot looking.

Eeuw, that horrible violet gum!
Had a boyfriend when I was 11 or 12 who chewed that, and that may be the clincher as to why I finally figured out he was creepy.
Can't believe that it's still sold 45 years later! I'll bet it was a product of the 1920s or '30s, seemed creepy back in 1961 or '62.

When I'm right, I'm right:
"In the early 1930’s, Charles Howard, an Armenian immigrant, started the company, C. Howard, in a loft on lower Broadway in New York City. His goal was to make violet flavored candy tablets. Floral flavored candies were popular in Europe, but were not yet commercially made in the United States.
Howard was successful in producing a square candy with a distinct violet floral aroma and taste reminiscent of the edible candied flowers from his childhood. These candies are referred to as “mints†which refers to the size of the candy, not the flavor of the candy. Violets come packaged with 15 mints to a pack.
Early on in the start of the business, Howard sold the violet flavored mints on the street corners of New York City, rapidly growing his reputation. Soon the business grew enough where he could hire workers to hand pack the violet flavored mints into foil covered packages."

Not gum, Judy, candies.
