Elizabeth Moss is perhaps the most articulate cast member in characterizing what 'makes' MAD MEN what it is. I especially enjoyed her commentary on the Season 1 DVDs in which she describes how the relationships between the characters - that she herself gets lost in - are the driving force behind MAD MEN; and why the show's artistry qulifies it a watermark in today's television landscape. It's rare for someone so heavily involved in producing a series or film to understand and describe so eloquently why audiences love it; and Elizabeth Moss totally 'nails it!'

Really enjoyed this interview, would love to hear more from Elizabeth in the near future.

OOooOOO! Wonderful interview. I'm slowly making my way through all the interviews and I love your (the collective your) interview style.

The enthusiasm she has for Peggy and the show does come through in this interview. If I had to choose a favorite MM character, it would be Peggy. She reminds me very much of my mother, who was a smart, classy, diminutive young woman working to succeed in the male dominated world of medicine in the mid 1950s. She did what she had to to 'fit in' without ever compromising herself or her principles.

I also heard that NPR inteview with Jenna Fischer -- it was why I commented on her after the Rich Sommer interview. Sean's "pinch me" comment probably was not meant to the way Deborah took it (though I get why she took it as she did). It really goes to the sense that (albeit from slightly different perspectives), both women come across as grounded (or "normal," as RS put it) and seem to truly understand and appreciate that they landed two excellent gigs -- especially for TV.

I may revisit the linked interview to verify my recollection that JF -- like Jon Hamm -- made her trek to Hollywood from Missouri.

Elisabeth is definitely humble, but definitely not "pinch me, please," because she's been acting all her life. With child stars, you either get wild dysfunction, or very grounded, real people. Not much in between, and not really any divas.

You guys do great interviews; I've also read the newest interview with Rich Sommer, and I love the immediacy of the chats. Rich turned out to be a lot more thoughtful, actually, than I expected, yet exactly what I expected. Part of that is his blog is so minimalist.

Elisabeth is so cool; she reminds me of an interview I heard on NPR with Jenna Fisher - Pam, from "The Office" - there's a sweetness to them where you can almost here them saying "Pinch me, please" in their heads. Very Humble.

Again, great interview.

Excellent - so THAT'S the backstory for her cameo on SNL. I thought she did a pretty good parody of Peggy herself.

Everyone, thank you.

She really is so lovely. Sweet and sincere and intense but not at all too intense. And kind, as you said Noah, and friendly, but with a slight wall up; just the appropriate amount--I didn't walk out of there feeling like we were BFFs, nor should I have, y'know?

Speed-the-Plow's new tagline: It's not worth your kidney. I love it.

Even not counting my name being mentioned [which about made me pass out], this is a wonderful interview. She seems very kind and insightful about the show.
