Weekend Quotation
Look, it’s JFK, and you’re not Jackie; you’re definitely his type. I’ve met him.
—Jimmy Barrett, The Benefactor
So much in that line! Setting us up for Maidenform, with the Jackie/Marilyn compare. Also the casual reference to JFK’s cheating ways, in the company of regular married folk.
Personally, I see Betty as a Jackie, just blonde, but that night she wore her Marilyn pink dress.

Coming back the next day, is this quote too contextual?
(To/about Don): Look, it’s JFK, and (to Betty) you’re not Jackie; you’re definitely not his (JFK’s) type. I’ve met him.

If Don is JFK, and Betty is Jackie, then she wouldn’t be his type. JFK had Jackie but cheated on her constantly.
On the other hand, this doesn’t really work. Don is attracted more to the Jackie type than the Marilyn type. He likes strong, smart women, who are almost his equal even if he won’t admit the equal part. He like women who can challenge him, even if he has to win. That sounds more like a Jackie type woman than a Marilyn type woman.

It doesn’t work; it was a misogynistic campaign; Peggy called that right away.
The way I see it, it’s Madonna/whore. It’s the presentable wife and mother vs the oozing sexpot. That’s why, despite her hair color and her outfit that night, I see Betty as a Jackie. But it’s complicated, I agree.
