One thing that has stuck with me is the significance of Kinsey's trip down south. It seems like there should be more to the story than he took the trip and got dumped by Sheila (likely for being a pretentious jerk). Sheila's arc worked to show the tension between Kinsey and Joan. It still showed the racial lines of the early 1960s. They didn't need to add the trip to the story. Don could have kicked Paul off the California trip anyway. It just doesn't seem complete to me.

In light of this week's election miracle, I have had this on my mind a lot. I would be curious to know what other Basketteers think. I don't buy the story line being put in for convenience. I think it will come back next season, but how? Why was it there?

Just pondering... I will check back often. I love the site. Keep up the good work!

Oh good! I was a little afraid I wore out my welcome! :>

I've been thinking a great deal about one of the larger themes of MM, one of which Matt Weiner touched on in his interview with you---the whole art vs. business theme that was brought to a head in the final episode of season 2---and would love to talk about that.

It is the Simpson's version of the Mad Men opening credits.
