I’m meeting with Elisabeth tomorrow.

Again, give me time before the actual post; we’re still transcribing Matt.

And when I say we’re still transcribing Matt, I mean that I’m packing for my weekend wedding in Delaware (and when I say my weekend wedding I mean my friend’s wedding that I’m singing in, not, y’know, actually my wedding, ’cause those usually come after a second date… but I digress) and Deborah is transcribing Matt.

But still.

Next week we hope to get you both interviews.

And there are more in the hopper. thing.

  1. What am I not supposed to ask?

'Cause I get the impression that Lizzie is just gonna spill her gossiping guts to me, once I pose things to her.

  2. I kid.

    I kid because I love.

  3. Seriously Roberta, if you're not going to commit to this thing, then why bother?

    Nice work, Joe.

  4. There will be more excerpts soon. Maybe tomorrow.

  5. Hi Deborah & Roberta,

I am definitely looking forward to reading the interview with Elisabeth. She is a fantastic actress and one of my favorites. I absolutely love her on Mad Men and not to mention, a very beautiful young lady. If you do meet with her, and if it is okay for me to ask, please tell her that she is definitely a fantastic, beautiful, and wonderful actress from me. Have a fantastic time tomorrow ladies.

  6. Please ask her lots about Speed The Plow. I'm such a fan of theatre and would give a kidney to see it. If only I were closer to New York than Alabama…

  7. You know kidneys are pretty important, right?

    Just saying.

I do plan to ask, but anything specific you have in mind? Take a minute between pouring drinks and let me know.

  8. You might want to ask if she's heard anything about the S2 DVD set — whether she's been approached about doing commentaries. I really enjoyed hearing her take (and those of fellow cast members) on the S1 DVDs.

You could ask about doing commentaries in general, or about all of the little videos they do for AMC. Having been an actress for most of her life, I wonder what she thinks of all of these tech extras that now seem like a part of the gig.

Was there any directorial note in the final script that would add insight on Pete alone with the rifle?

  9. Roberta, I would steer clear of questions about Jeremy Piven.

    I’m just sayin’.

  10. I would like to know what her week is like from the time she gets a new script until the show wraps. What is the process for a typical week for the show?

  11. Oh wow, JACKPOT you girls. Awesome.

If I may throw this in, I assume you will certainly ask EM about THAT SCENE in the season finale (with Pete)…I just want to hear her talk at length about where she got with Pete this season…and where she got with Don and her job this season. I've heard bits and pieces all year in other places, but now that we've seen the whole season I'd really love to hear here speak at length about these two key relationships.

    Can't wait to read it.

  12. I've been thinking about how they resolved Peggy's denial of pregnancy story with a crisis of faith story. We are all trying to interpret it in a more psycho analytic one. The continued denial of pregnancy was an act of despair. She could not see anything worth living for about becoming a mother in that situation. (She and Pete would have made each other miserable if she tried to shame him into being with her, and she knew it). In addition to the "This never happened" part of his speech, he let her know there was something to look forward to, returning work. While this could be a-religious it is also a sign that she is not abandoned by God, though her experience has made it difficult to relate to the dogma of her upbringing. Besides the pregnancy could be interpreted as God punishing her for transgressing against her community, but the only sign of forgiveness is a return to the situation that set up her getting pregnant in the first place.

So back to topic I was hoping to hear her discuss about the relationship with Peggy's faith and her family's faith. And what sort of discussions they had about what her relationship to Father Gil would be like.

  13. Hey all. Roberta called me from the car, she's on the road. It went really well but it was very off-the-cuff, so expect very different questions from the one's we're discussing here. Interactive and casual is better, I think.

  14. Wow, lots of interviews. Congrats!

  15. Kvelling for you.
