Just a reminder folks. Starting at 5pm eastern, the first five episodes of this season, followed by episode 6, Maidenform.
Most of us here at the Basket probably don’t need the marathon, but it’s great for people who just climbed on board with S1; this is a perfect opportunity for those folks to catch up.
Below the fold, a sneak peak at Maidenform. As always, come on in and join the conversation, starting Sunday at 9pm eastern, at our open thread. Cocktails will be served.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.

I noticed in the preview for next week that Ken seems so professional with Peggy. He invites her in the room, and tells her he will not clear anything until he passes it buy her (something like that). You can see that he actually considers her a collegue.
If Paul gives her a hard time, then he is a poser and not as advanced as he tries to make it out.
I tell you, I had some concern about whatever is going on in that room that Ken is opening the door into. It is a little like lambs being led to the slaughter. I mean it seems so overtly "Gang Bang" like. Not literally, but one woman in a room full of men for an audition. There would have been some serious lawsuits over that kind of stuff today.

Where do you think the laws came from?
The women for one thing. I mean the way the men are behaving, I think a woman today (even if she were desperate for the job) would have serious reservations about entering a room full of leering men.
These days, a company would at least have a woman employee in the room to show that nothing improper was being done.
I would like to get in the head of some of the women waiting in the room outside. I mean that little snippet of video alone looked pretty bad.
I think it’s nice that Ken treats Peggy with some respect, probably because hers is the only skirt in the office he doesn’t want to remove (though, if given the opportunity, he probably still would I guess…..). Paul’s so much meaner to her, but that could be because they’re competing copy writers and he’s threatened by her awesomeness.
Also, I am lustful for Betty Draper’s tennis dress.
Obviously, it's an audition for displaying maidenform bras. Okay, nothing is obvious with this show. And Ken looks like he is smirking, like "you can come in here, but you don't want to come in here. You will ruin the fun." Ken is a pimp.
I agree, there's nothing genuinely respectful about what Ken is doing.
Julia, I'll arm wrestle you for that dress. I'd pretty much arm wrestle anyone for anything Betty wears.
Actually, it saves MY ass. My DVR hard drive crashed between FTWTY and Flight 1. So I no longer have a saved copy of FTWTY and seriously, I need it.
Julia – actually, Peggy's a copywriter (creative) and Ken's an AE (accounts) … they don't compete directly.
I keep wondering how I can get my husband to watch 3/4 of season 1 in time to watch the whole marathon on Sunday so he can catch up. I really want to discuss it with him and he's only seen 3 episodes.
Plus we'll be watching tennis all weekend so I guess I can forget it.
Deb… it will probably be edited down. Remember, FTWTY had what… one commercial?
I never did compare, but it's on the list.
Yay Donny Brook! Another tennis fan!
Well, we wanted to find out what would be cut out, and I do have my episode recap, so…
Julia and Donny Brook — totally in agreement about Betty’s wardrobe!
I keep wondering how I can get my husband not to run from the house, rending his clothes and bleating like a damn baby, after five episodes of MM plus the new one, this Sunday.
He really is very good about watching the show with me. But I know very well that all he wants to do is watch Fox Sports World for his own repetitive nonsense (all soccer, all the time).
On Sunday, I plan to play the patient card. I am in recovery; he needs to Do What I Say.
Failing that, I have decided to become the patient from hell, and somehow make my head spin around like Linda Blair’s in “The Exorcist”. Let’s get that girl on the phone. Let’s find out how she made that work for her. Yoga? Chriopractic? I’ll bet once I can pull off that little trick, the TV (hell, the house itself) is pretty much all mine …
