Pop Candy SHOUTout for BoK/Lipp Gloss!
Q: How much do we love Whitney Matheson’s Pop Candy?
A: A whole fuck of a lot!
Coming to us via USA Today, Whitney Matheson is all pop culture, all the time. She’s a Mad Men and BoK fan. She’s jumping on the ‘let’s talk about last night’s episode on Monday’ bandwagon. It’s like… bandwagon candy.
Included in today’s piece is a recommendation for BoK from one of her readers (and, presumably, ours) Paige G:
They analyze and discuss just about every important detail of each week’s show and post links to every show interview, review or tidbit,” she says. “It’s run by two sisters whose last name is Lipp, so they use all kind of puns (weekly recaps are called the ‘Lipp Gloss‘).
The Lipp Gloss linking is all me. ‘Cause uh… it’s my feature. One that Deborah and discussed at weird length yesterday over yummy brunch.
And in case this little post of mine isn’t self-aggrandizing and self-promoting enough, I will use it as yet another reminder to please visit my video entry for the win-a-role-on-Mad-Men contest. Visit, vote, and comment.
Kisses!!
Roberta

I love Whit and Pop Candy. It’s not annoying celebrity gossip bullsh!t like every other pop culture site out there, and the commenters actually add something to the conversation (just like here!). It leans towards the geeky side of things (comic books, sci-fi shows and cool indie music) but then again, so do I.

Yeah!! I’m glad I could spread the love and spill the Basket of Kisses unto other Mad Men apostles

Dear Madame Lipps,
May I suggest a separate topic on the wisdom of Rachel. I mean this in all it’s permutations.
She is a woman who has aborted (yes, that word is chosen with thought) the effects and connection to Don Draper. She walked/sailed away from danger and heartbreak.
She spoke in truth and I think she acted with insight. She is what Peggy will become.
If MW ever wanted to know a character I would want to know more about it would be Rachael’s father. He raised a wise woman!
