Big news from the Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed: Matt Weiner has a five year plan:

“Mad Men” showrunner Matthew Weiner is known for close attention to detail on his acclaimed AMC series and it turns out he has an equally specific plan for the future of the show: Weiner intends for “Mad Men” to include five seasons, spanning 10 years, with time jumps between each season.

  2. This is so, so exciting. Imagine Don Draper in 1968 man! Or Joan in 1966… I hope this happens.

  3. I so completely want to see Sal after Stonewall.

  4. This sounds terrific, not just to see the changes in the characters, but to see the fashions and props. Toward the end these things should resonate for me, since I was born in 1968.

  5. Sal would be completly agahst at the actions of the young men involved in Stonewall. There would be a comment about "kid's today not knowing how the world works." I totally want to see it-too bad it takes place it what will be an off year for "Mad Men." The show only takes place in even years, and Stonewall happened during the summer of 1969.

  6. I don't know that it's going to be as rigid as every even year, Ret. Seems to me that Weiner just wants breathing room between seasons, and he DOESN'T want to be predictable.
