Ahh, 20-20 hindsight. Writers, of course, plan a season, and know what they’re doing.
In Hobo Code, when everyone is out partying and doing the Twist, there is a teeny quick shot of Harry asking Hildy to dance, and a few moments later you see them Twisting up a storm with each other.
(It also happens to be a bad continuity snag. Harry had, seconds earlier, walked away from Pete with two glasses, heading for refills. I mean it’s possible that he could have put them down because he wanted to dance, but the timing was tight, and really is unlikely.)
Oh, those crazy kids.

Nice catch.
The time may have been shaved a bit in editing, but Harry definitely took the two glasses, walked to the back part of the bar, set the glasses down to be refilled, heard "The Twist" begin, and turned around to ask Hildy to dance.
But, yes, good catch.
sneaky, sneaky….
Harry actually did put the glasses down. It was just out of frame, so the camera didn't catch it.
Love checking the site ladies! I learn more here about the show than from my agent:)
Keep up the great blogging!

AKA 'Hildy'
Rand, definitely too tight in the editing for that to be plausible to the audience. (The obsessive, disturbed audience.) HOWEVER, it makes me wonder if this was part of the original editing or part of the AMC are fools who are already showing whittled down versions with important stuff cut out that shouldn't have been cut out until the thing was sold to a different network years from now editing. One more thing I will need to check once I get me some DVDs.
(ahem.)
Anyway, thanks both for that little offscreen scoop. And while you're here, can I just say A) thanks for reading us and commenting, and B) having just re-watched Nixon v Kennedy how terribly powerful your scenes were. Like, Shh, don't breathe while this is happening powerful.
"There they are. Just the two of them."
Erm…did you not catch who just left a note on your blog? Scroll up. Right there. Talk about "someone who knows…"
Just saying…
Of course you caught it! Not paying attention again…
Nah, I just posted it. And you're just looking out for us!
It's late. I've been working too much, and it's time for me to go home…
Go home!
Thank you both for reading and helping us out with stuff like that. Makes me so happy to get that kind of acknowledgement. Really. This is me, happy.
Makes you wonder who else is reading us!
(Welcome, Julie McNiven!)
Glass, I just pretend everyone I've ever been embarrassed in front of is reading. That way I avoid an ginormous faux pas. Except for the Coke thing, of course.
Wow. That was cool. I love Hildy. She's my favorite secretary.
"I'll just sit here and watch this blog. That's all I'll do."
Hildy has a major fan following. If you look on the Mad Men board on the IMDb, for example, she gets voted "hottest" quite a lot.
Umm, yeah.
Nixon v. Kennedy … Harry's office … the morning after … they get dressed.
Whoa.
The Twist in Hobo Code certainly is a hotbed of sexual activity. However, Paul and Joan stick to the Cha-Cha there and in Nixon vs. Kennedy. Old-fashioned lovers?
Paul and Joan are incredibly sexy together. Not just their moves, but in their familiarity. In NvK, her dancing with him sans shoes, him laughing at how she can't sit in the dress… it is just killer.
